Conference Merit Award
Louisiana Annual Conference
These scholarships are merit awards supported by United Methodist Student Day will be given annually by the Louisiana Conference to any undergraduate college student. Awards are in the amount of $500-$1,000, is offered by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) for a student attending any recognized United Methodist-related institution. Conference Merit Award Scholarship Nominations due by by March 1, 2016.

UMHEF is committed to supporting the dreams of students who want to further their education at a United Methodist college, university or seminary of their choice.
United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides $1,000 matching scholarships to United Methodist students who have received a $1,000 scholarship from their local United Methodist church to help them attend a United Methodist-related college, university, or seminary. Available matching funds include 25 scholarships designated for Hispanic-, Asian-, and Native-American [HANA] students funded by the UM General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.

Young People’s Ministries

YPM was created to connect young people and those in ministries with young people to each other, to the church, and to God.
The division currently offers two U.S. scholarships, the Richard S. Smith Scholarship and the David W. Self Scholarship, for United Methodist students entering their first year of undergraduate studies. These are available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents of the United States.
The Global Scholarship is for United Methodist students, ages 16-30, attending a university outside the United States. The applications are available in English, French, Portuguese, Russian, and German. The amount awarded will vary.

United Methodist Student Day calls the church to support students as they prepare for life in uniting faith with knowledge. The offering provides scholarships and student loans for qualified United Methodist applicants.
